Insidebooks

Inside Books Project sends free books and educational materials to prisoners in Texas and works to promote reading, literacy, and education among incaarcerated individuals and to educate the general public on issues of incarceration.

Volunteers open letters from inmates, select books to best fit the request, and make packages of books to send back to each inmate. Volunteer nights are fun, relaxed, and a great way to meet interesting people and make a real difference!

How you can help: Inside Books Project hosts regular volunteer hours every Thursday and Sunday night and every second Monday of the month during the day. They also sell books at the HOPE farmers market and have special events including weekend volunteer events, fundraisers, film screenings, and more.
